A marketer friend once told me, "No social media is better than bad social media."

I think this applies to content of all kinds. I see dozens of websites per week that have a great-looking blog section, and the latest post was in 2024. What does this say to you? To me, it’s a clear indication that a brand doesn’t follow through on ideas. It tells me that someone, somewhere, told the CEO that business blogging was a great marketing tool. When it didn’t pan out right away, it was forgotten about and left to languish like a graveyard.

I’d be willing to bet that this sounds more familiar than you’d like to admit. Frankly, posting once every few months and only when there’s time for it isn’t going to do much for you. Actually, I take that back. It will show your potential customers that you don’t fully commit to your work, even if it’s only subconsciously.

I get it, time is hard to come by, and business blogging might not be your top priority. But it’s only fallen to the wayside because you aren’t using it to its fullest potential.
